The UN/CEFACT Transport and Logistics group is a domain group working under UN/CEFACT which actively promotes the use and development of international standards for the global transport and logistics sector. The group represents a wealth of experience and a stock of standards such as the latest Multi Modal Reference Data Model (MMT) which is the foundation underlying message structures that are currently being developed to reflect the current interests of our sector for exchange-syntax independent data exchange structures and standardised APIs.
In addition, for over thirty years, the United Nations Centre for eBusiness and Trade Facilitation (UN/CEFACT) has developed and maintained the UN/EDIFACT messages which are widely used in the transport and logistics sector. Since 2004, this has been complimented by an XML syntax but especially by a semantic library of all the information, which is used in cross- border trade and transport called the United Nations Core Component Library (UN/CCL).
